John Crawford is one of the finest Latin/Jazz pianists on the scene, whose unerring musicality and impressive technique have taken him all over the world. He includes work with the likes of Latin legends Airto Moreira, Giovanni Hidalgo, and Eumir Deodato as well as UK based artists such as Snowboy, Roberto Pla and Viramundo on a glittering CV. And just to prove his versatility he is also one of this country’s leading exponents of Spanish music, and his set tonight will include his remarkable arrangements for piano of some classic Flamenco pieces. Tonight John will be launching his long-awaited, latest album “Room For Dancing”, a mix of his own brilliant tunes and exciting and innovative arrangements of favourite compositions from musical friends & as well as others who have influenced his own style. As on the album, as well as the fantastic Uruguayan guitarist Guille Hill, bassist Alec Dankworth and Tristan Banks-drums the gig will also feature Special Guests Eleonora Claps & Linley Weir on vocals and Shirley Smart on cello.
